This piece is unusual in that it is nearly exact to the Paris style buckles of the mid 1800's. These buckles as far as I know have the word Solide on the back and Paris on the front of the swivel. This one is without any writing. It does have some remnant of cloth stuck to it. It was dug on private land with permission. Would make a nice addition to one collection. It is 1 inch long by 3/4 inch wide. Good Luck. It does have some of the original black paint on it.
