This is a early Paris style buckle dating from about 1840-1880. This was a dug buckle as seen by the roughness. It was cleaned to a degree. The buckle measures 1.125 inches by 3/4 inch. You can make out the work solide on the bar and part of the word Paris on the lower part of the buckle. Own a part of American history.
